[Note: This file will track all the changes made in the Slackware dist. prior to the release of the most current version. If you've got an older version and are brave enough to attempt an upgrade of your disks and/or currently installed system, this is where you'd look to find out how to upgrade to the point where the newest version was released. To see any recent changes made to the current version, check the "ChangeLog" file] 1.00 release: Sat Jul 17 15:10:15 CDT 1993 Disks A1, A8, and A10 were reuploaded. Disk A1 was modified to remove the LILO "compact" option. If the disk worked for you before, there should be no need to get the new version. It fixes a problem with some BIOS versions that would not allow it to boot. Disk A8 was modified to fix local replies under elm. Disk A10 was also modified to configure local replies under the Sendmail program. Mon Jul 19 03:26:38 CDT 1993 The 3.5" disk images were all moved to ./IMAGES. These are being phased out. The files here and in the directories a2, a3, etc. will now contain the most current release. On disk A2: bin4: Removed some gzip utilities that are replaced by new 1.2.3 ones. image.tgz: new .99pl11 kernel image. etc.tgz: issue and motd edited to reflect the new kernel level. gzip123: GNU zip upgraded from 1.0.1 to 1.2.3 diska2 file changed due to name change gzip101 -> gzip123 On disk A3: bin.tgz: Changed the "ls" program to make it aware of the .gz gzip suffix. On disk A5: man.tgz: Removed the gzip man pages. I'm going to let those reside in the gzip123 package. On disk A8: lx99p11: Linux .99p11 replaces .99p11A version of Linux source. diska8: changed due to name change lx99p11a -> lx99p11 Tue Jul 20 21:24:07 CDT 1993 Disk a2: image.tgz: New kernel image compiled with the patch to fork.c Disk a8: lx99p11.tgz now contains the pre-patched kernel source. ksh.tgz was removed (and put on a11) The "diska8" file was edited. Disk a11: ksh.tgz was added to this disk. (and removed from a8) The "diska11" file was edited. Wed Jul 21 13:27:15 CDT 1993 Disk a2: gzip123.tgz was fixed to remove a link duplicated in bin.tgz. (This is not a major fix, it just gets rid of a warning during installation) Sat Jul 24 04:02:47 CDT 1993 Disk a2: sysadm.tgz: syssetup script changed to allow booting a compressed kernel. Deleted theory.sls file (It was moved to a5) SCSI support has been added, but has not been tested. If you want to be among the first, read README_SCSI in the scsi/ subdirectory. This package should be added to an up-to-date Slackware disk set. Non-SCSI users might also want to try the new a1scsi disk, as it brings disk a1 itself up to .99p11. It may also break NFS install, if that worked before. I don't have an ethernet card, so I can't test it. 7/24/1993 A1: Scripts changed, .99p11 kernel A2: new image.tar (IDE) gzip123.tgz fixed sysadm.tgz altered to allow booting of a compressed kernel.
